the summer of 2017. if i had to describe it in one word, it would be BUSY. for a few years now, growing Taylor Clark Photography was just an idea. a plan that had yet to come to pass. these past four months have predominately been about putting those plans and ideas to work. no more talking or dreaming. doing. truthfully, it hasn’t been as glamorous as i initially envisioned. i have spent most of this past season at my desk, editing. lots and lots of editing. my days are spent at the computer and most of my evenings and all of my weekends are spent shooting. i miss my friends, regular family hangouts and the feeling of waking up on the weekend without any plans. but, the hard work also feels really, really good. i feel incredibly fortunate for this opportunity, to expand this business that i madly love, and to have some of the kindest/most talented humans i know as part of the TCP team. i have learned a lot. mostly that i don’t have it all figured out, which is #humbling. i want to do better, learn more and God-willing, continue to document the lives of real, emotional, messy, beautiful people.

emilie + brandyn feel like a tangible product of all the busy that has filled this past summer. the fruits of all our labour, if you will. having clients that are 100% in, that whole-heartedly trust my vision-literally show up and follow me to a creepy parking lot at 6 AM kind of trust- makes my heart do cartwheels. i wish i could describe it more eloquently, but all i can come up with is- it feels really great. i’ve said to before, but it’s hard to describe my excitement for their Prince Edward County wedding next summer at The Drake Devonshire. it will be an intimate, perfectly them affair and i am honoured to be able to document it. i have a feeling it will be a forever favourite.

as i eluded to, we woke up very early on monday morning to capture the rising sun. by the end of our session, our feet were soaked, we had managed to bring up #harrypotter multiple times throughout our conversation + i had undeniably fallen even harder for these two. whether it be having a beer at a local brewery, or catching the sunrise, my time with emilie + brandyn always leaves me with a smile. i am really excited to be sharing some of my favourites from their session on the blog today.
