I’ve had an idea brewing for a while, something big that at the time, I didn’t believe I was capable of. I was scared because I’m not good at failure. I take it hard, and personally, and dwell a little longer on it than I should. Slowly, however, over the past 2 years I’ve learned to stand a little taller. I’ve built a business that I am proud of, and in doing so, I’ve chosen to believe that I am more than capable (wearing my #bosslady t-shirt weekly also surprisingly helps). After confiding with Ben, and some close family and friends, I decided to take action and over the last few months, I’ve been able to turn that idea into a business venture, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to share it with you, finally.

Over the years, one of my greatest frustrations has been the growing number of inquiries I’ve had to turn away. So many amazing weddings days, full of unique traditions, toped with heartwarming love stories. We’ve joked if only we could double ourselves, we’d have a serious business on our hands. The idea of hiring other photographers seemed impossible for so long, mostly because we thought what we gave our clients, only we could provide. With so many talented photographers out there, we’ve tried to build our business not only on our ability to take photos but also on our ability to connect quickly and meaningfully with our brides + grooms. We are blessed to leave most weddings not only with full hearts, but often times with new friendships. My thinking quickly changed however after working closely with two particular photographers. Not only did their talent give me great confidence, but their demeanour with people, how at ease they put their clients, made me start to believe that this idea could really work. Okay, enough anticipation!

I would love for you to meet Lisa + Jill.

These two woman, well, they make me feel brave enough to take a chance and expand this business I’ve spent almost everyday of the last 4.5 years establishing. These two passionate, talented, and charismatic ladies have officially joined the Taylor Clark Photography team and will be shooting weddings as first shooters in 2017. This means so much for our business, but most importantly this means we have numerous openings for new clients next wedding season, and we’re really excited about it. Having watched both these women fall in love with their craft, work so hard to conquer it, and how far they’ve already come has been an honour. I’m positive we’ve picked the best possible fit for our team. It’s our goal to service 50 brides and grooms next year, a goal I am pleased to say, we are getting close to achieving. All editing and post production will continue to be done by moi for consistency sake (and some may say I have some type-a, slightly controlling [but in a totally cute way] nature]. I will also continue to shoot the vast majority of our weddings, but I am so completely thrilled to have an option for clients who are getting married on dates that I’m no longer available for. Nervous (because this feels big), but also really, really excited. Life is about taking chances, right?!

I certainly feel like I’ve done enough talking, their words and photos will speak for themselves. You’re going to love them, I just know it!

LISA:

“Oh hai there!

I’m Lisa, a passionate photographer, proud Torontonian, avid Netflix watcher, and fish taco addict. As a trained and experienced graphic designer I have always has an eye for photography. Making a change in my creative career was inevitable as I know for certain, photography is what I am meant to do, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I find the quiet moments between two people in love incredibly inspiring and I love capturing the unnoticed moments of their special events that they might not remember. My photography style is both lifestyle and documentary in nature. I adore being a fly on the wall anticipating the special moments and then switching into a role where I can lead a bridal party into fun and dynamic poses while making everyone laugh and feel comfortable.

I’ve always been drawn to weddings. There’s something about the love in the air, the hustle and bustle, and the raw emotion of everyone that surrounds it. I won’t lie – I’m a softie, and will probably cry at your wedding. I’m so excited to be apart of the Taylor Clark Photography team and feel honoured to be the one to tell your love story to the world.”

*This woman right here, she is literally dripping with talent, everything she touches turns to metophoric gold. Design, photography, graphics, cooking, it doesn’t matter what creative avenue this woman decides to dip herself into, she knocks it out of the park every.single.time. Honoured to have her as a part of my team.

JILL:

‘Hi there!

My name is Jillian and I am so excited to be apart of the Taylor Clark Photography team! I definitely an energetic and bubbly person with a big passion for people, love, and of course, lifestyle and wedding photography. My inspiration comes from hearing your story, and then documenting it in an authentic, fun, artistic way that is individual to each couple I have the honour of documenting. I care (a lot!!!) about your day and want you to absolutely love your images, and believe the best way to achieve great photos is to have a great experience.

I am beyond grateful for this opportunity, to be working with Steph, and can’t wait to meet my 2017 brides and grooms. It’s going to be a great wedding season!’

*The first words that comes to mind when I think of Jill are ‘full of life’. This woman is filled to the brim with passion + a genuine zest for all things wedding and photography related. She leaves her heart on the table at every opportunity, and her excitement is always palpable. After second-shooting and editing for Taylor Clark Photography for 1.5 years, her transition to first shooter has been seamless.

I really can’t say enough about these two, and feel so lucky to have them on board. The bottom line is, we are happy to be providing more oppurtunities for our future clients and (in case we haven’t made it abundantly clear) we are really excited about it!

As always, please email steph@taylorclarkphotography.com for all your TCP wedding inquries.
